The International Association of Limnogeology W.H. Bradley Medal is given to a limnogeologist who is outstanding in their field, shows dedication and service to the field of limnogeology and has contributed outstanding ideas and innovation to the field, including seminal publications. The medal is named after the geologist Wilmot Hyde Bradley.
The deadline for nominations has now passed (April 18, 2025).
The IAL Board looks forward to receiving nominations for this prestigious and important award.
The nomination should consist of:
A brief cover letter
A two-page summary of the nomination to outline the contributions of the nominee, referring to: the science of limnogeology; service to limnogeology; and the impact of nominee’s research to limnogeology and science in general.
A CV (no more than 20 pages) that highlights the important achievements summarized in the letter. For example, the committee is not interested in the number of grants and how much money they contribute to their research, but the committee is interested in the mentoring of young scientists (students at all levels and younger faculty and researchers) and how the research conducted by the nominee is important to limnogeology.
Please submit the nomination materials by email to ialimnogeology@gmail.com on or before April 18, 2025; early applications are welcome.
The Bradley medal winner will be announced to the IPA-IAL community at the 3rd International Paleolimnology and Limnogeology Joint Meeting to be held in Aix les Bains, France in Oct. 2025.
We ask that the recipient of this award present a talk in a plenary session at the joint meeting. The IAL will support attendance in person by contributing to travel expenses and waiving the registration fee.
